Growing up in Arkansas, I loved the changing of the seasons, and the many ways in which the forest and the trees heralded and echoed the descent into winter.

Living in California, I'm also amazed at the beauty in the trees and forests. We don't have the same distinct seasonal changes as I experienced in Arkansas, but they can be just as beautiful.

I just returned from a visit to Northern California to visit my oldest daughter, and it was rainy, foggy,and wonderfully lush.  It felt enchanted, just like this painting.  Here is a photo of me in the St. Francis vineyard, in Napa Valley, enjoying a moment of enchanted freedom!
